Rita M. Scattino

Rita M. Scattino, 95, of Niles, passed away on Sunday March 17, 2024 at Shepherd of The Valley Liberty after a brief illness.
She was born February 8, 1929 in Warren the daughter of Thomas and Anna DeSantis Calderone.
Rita was a 1947 graduate of Niles McKinley High School,a homemaker, member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish in Niles and The Blessed Mother Society. She enjoyed casino trips, baking, and spending time with her family. Her husband Frank A. Scattino Sr whom she married November 11, 1961 died April 3, 2015.
She will be sadly missed by her son Frank A. Scattino Jr. and his wife Melessa of Girard, a brother Palmer Calderone and his wife Ruby of Columbus, two grandchildren, Aundrea and Alissa Scattino and the Mike and Anne Marie Thigpen family.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, Thomas M.“Tex” Calderone, David Calderone, Freddie Calderone, Clarence “Sledge” Calderone, and Michael “Fibber” Calderone, and two sisters, Matilda Calderone and Lucille Stabile. Private family services were held. Burial was in Niles City Cemetery
