Angeline R. Mazza Dudley, 90, formerly of Niles, went home peacefully to the Lord on September 11, 2016 at Omni Manor Nursing Home with her loving son Joe at her side after courageously living with Alzheimer’s for several years.
She was born February 11, 1926 in Niles the daughter of Carmine and Angeline Vigorito Mazza and was raised by her step-mother Maria Salerno Mazza.
She was a 1945 graduate of Niles McKinley High School, a homemaker, and was a caregiver to the elderly. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Niles, Girard Eagles, enjoyed cooking, ballroom dancing, bowling, and playing bingo.
Her husband James R. Dudley Sr. whom she married in 1975 died in 1996.
Angeline was a loving, caring, giving person who loved to help people. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her three sons, John C. Mortaro of Girard, James R. Dudley Jr. and his wife Cindy of Warren, and Joseph A. Mortaro and his fiancee Tammy of Beckley, West Virginia, a brother Albert Mazza of Niles, a sister Catherine Marion and her husband Elmer of Warren, four grandchildren, Tina, Tony, Jack, and Kasie, nine great-grandchildren, Michael, Lauren, Alana, Anthony, Nicholas, Arron, Aleah, Stephanie, and Paisley, and several nieces and nephews, especially her niece Angie Mazza Dugan who was very helpful during her recent transition.
She was preceded in death by a son, Anthony J. Mortaro Jr., five brothers, Joseph Mazza, Angelo Mazza, Nicholas Mazza, William Mazza, and Phillip Mazza, and three sisters, Barbara Anerino, Anna Angelo, and Florence DiCintio.
Friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 7PM at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles where The Mt. Carmel Bereavement Ministry will conduct prayers at 6:30PM.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM Thursday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Niles preceded by a 10:30AM prayer service at the funeral home.
Internment will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
