Bruno J. Manfredi, 77, of Niles, formerly of Raritan, New Jersey, died at 8:05PM Tuesday January 13, 2015 at Hospice of The Valley Hospice House in Poland.
He was born March 28, 1937 in Manville, New Jersey the son of Dominic and Inez Manfredi Manfredi.
Bruno was a 1954 graduate of Washington High School in New Jersey, employed as foreman at Eastern Steel Barrel in Piscataway, New Jersey for 17 years and also at General Motors Lordstown for 29 ½ years retiring in 1996. He was co-founder with his wife Dolly of Manfredi’s Pizza in Niles from 1991-2011 and also a certified mechanic.
He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Niles, United Auto Workers Local 1112, collected die cast cars, enjoyed music, playing the guitar, and an avid sports fan, especially of The New York Yankees and Ohio State Buckeyes
He was a United States Air Force veteran of The Korean War from 1954-1957 having served in Iceland.
His wife Louise M. “Dolly” Manfredi whom he married April 6, 1961 died September 8, 2002.
He will be deeply missed by two sons Anthony Manfredi of Niles and Robert Manfredi of Niles, two daughters, Debra Manfredi of Niles and Gina Manfredi, at home, five grandchildren, Carmen Datchuk, Nicholas Manfredi, Cameron Manfredi, Philip Manfredi, and Christina Marshall,a daughter-in-law Dena Manfredi, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Victor Manfredi and Dominic Manfredi and two sisters, Evelyn Bergen and Dorothy Puma
Friends may call from 4 to 7PM Sunday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles where The Mount Carmel Bereavement Ministry will conduct prayers at 6:30PM.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10AM Monday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Niles preceded by a 9:30AM prayer service at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery where Bruno will be honored for his military service by The Trumbull County American Legion Honor Guard.
