Charles F. Woods, 82, of Niles, died at 3:35AM Saturday August 5, 2017 at his residence
He was born March 26, 1935 in Youngstown the son of Buster and Josephine Baulo Woods.
Charles was employed as a group leader for 40 years at General Electric in Niles retiring in 1992, member of AmVets #106 in Niles, VFW #2074 in Niles, and The American Legion #737. He also enjoyed fishing, gardening, traveling, and was a United States naval veteran during The Korean War having served on The USS Franklin D. Roosevelt Aircraft Carrier.
His wife Joanne Ascione Woods whom he married July 12, 1958 died November 14, 2004.
He will be sadly missed by a son Charles D. Woods of Niles, a daughter Pamela Sabol and her husband Mike of Youngstown, a brother Gerald Woods and his wife Sandy of Niles, three grandchildren, Salvatore Donadio, Laura Donadio Biamonte and her husband Vince, Michael Donadio, and two great-grandchildren, Devin Donadio and Luca Biamonte.
He was preceded in death by a brother Harold Woods.
Friends may call Tuesday from noon to 1PM at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
Funeral services will be held 1PM Tuesday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles with Chaplain Rebecca Hudak officiating. Charles will be honored for his military service by The Trumbull County American Legion Honor Guard immediately following the services at the funeral home.
The family wishes to give special thanks to Hospice House, Mercy Health, and Visiting Nurses and Physicians for their kind and compassionate care.
