Dominic and I went to Edison Junior High togther. I took 2nd Place in the 9th Grade Physical Fitness Competition, beaten for 1st by Dominic. We also played football together; he was a helluva Left Guard. Shared a lot of laughs with him. He was a good egg.

My mother taught him in the 6th(?) grade at Washington Elementary. Even in her 80's, she would recall him, always with affection.

My condolences.

Dearest Family of Dominic,

I was so saddened to learn of Dom's passing. My brother just let me know last evening. I was out of town and had missed the announcements on television, radio and newspaper. Dominic was a very special individual. I have known him for 43 years!
I have very fond memories of Dom over the years. The first time I met him was during his gas stops at our Wolf's Head / Pennzoil gas station on Elm Rd in Warren, Ohio.
I believe Dominic was the inventor of the live radio remotes from businesses as we had many at our gas station during the mid to late 70's and early 80's. He was a great person and had that knack for engaging with people and making them feel like family. We were his family!

In short DOM was a fabulous, kind hearted man. And to this day when I would see him at numerous events around the area, he NEVER ever passed without speaking to me by name. He knew everybody. And everybody knew him.

So sad that he was taken at such a young age and of a horrible disease.

Rest in Peace my friend, until we meet again! Will be looking forward to the laughs! Hugs and sympathies to the the entire family.

The Rose Beyond The Wall

A rose once grew where all could see,
sheltered beside a garden wall,
And as the days passed swiftly by,
it spread its branches, straight and tall...

One day, a beam of light shone through
a crevice that had opened wide
The rose bent gently toward its warmth
then passed beyond to the other side

Now, you who deeply feel its loss,
be comforted - the rose blooms there-
its beauty even greater now, nurtured by
God's own loving care.

Dominic's family, we send our prayers and love your way. We considered you and Dominic part of our family. Every year at ghost lake I enjoyed spending time with you and seeing Dominic's eyes light up with such joy. He was always inspiring and had lots of love for everyone he met. I know this year, he will be watching over us all and smiling away at all of us at ghost lake. We will always love you Dom and will miss you dearly.

Aunt Barb, I know your pain.....you can call, text, anytime to talk. I love you very much. I will miss Uncle Dom. He had a presence. Sergio was always so admiring of Uncle Dom. He knew Uncle Dom could accomplish things, and Uncle Dom did. With a heart greater than gold, and a shere sense of family, he displayed with greatest dedication. Uncle Dom took us to Niagra after Sergio passed and he and Annabella were standing by a water fountain or something, I captured that picture, it showed his sincerest love for his family. He would call Annabella, "Annabella Cinderella" and he still would call her that, even though she ditched the Baragona abode for her Nonna's abode. Once I remarried, he and Aunt Barb accepted my new husband and eventually when I had another child, Hailey. They loved on her, treated her like family, just like Annabella. Every year at Christmas they would send them gifts. I just love you all. Love you Uncle Dom and all your quirks, your sense of humor, your BIG heart. Aunt Barb love you so much, wish I could be there to just hug you so tight. My heart is aching for you all. Love you all so much. God welcomes those who seek Him. God welcomed Uncle Dom.

The loss of a loved one is so hard to face,
you just want to hide,
go somewhere and escape!
But death is something
we all must go through.
I know it's hard
when it's someone you loved and knew.

Just know now,
he is in a better place,
no more hurt or pain shall he face.
It seems unfair, and yes, this is true,
but he is in Heaven now
watching over you!

God has called him home to rest!!
And he's being well taken care of
Because God knows best!

My memories of Domenic are upon first coming to Niles as a 7th grader and joining up with the Red Dragons and honestly somewhat intimidated by he and several other upperclassmen. He was larger than life and someone you immediately respected. As time went on you found there was no need to be intimidated and realized you were in the presence of one with the heart of a champion who's zeal for life overflowed. My condolences to Barb and the family for I know he'll be missed but also know they were blessed with the years of his presence that truly enriched their lives.
