Emily P. Lazzio, 75, of Niles died at 2:47PM Monday April 3, 2017 at her residence.
She was born October 7, 1941 in Warren, Ohio the daughter of Frank and Rose Flora Lazzio.
Emily was a 1959 graduate of Niles McKinley High School and a graduate of Youngstown State University with a Masters Degree in Education. Emily taught at Our Lady of Mount Carmel School in Niles and in The Niles City School System for 30 years. After she retired, she continued to teach at Kent State University and Youngstown State University.
Emily was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Niles, the Scope Senior Center, NEA, and OEA. She enjoyed traveling the world, buying and selling antiques, but her greatest enjoyment in life came from her passion for Star Trek.
She will be deeply missed by her relatives and sister-in-law.
Emily was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Michael Lazzio.
Private services will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are being handled by The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
