Evelyn M. Prezioso

Evelyn DiPietro Prezioso, 74, of Niles died on Friday May 22, 2015 at Autumn Hills Care Center in Niles.

She was born July 7, 1940 in Youngstown the daughter of Sarafino and Marie DiPietro.

Evelyn attended St. Ann’s grade school and was a 1959 graduate of Ursuline High School. She was employed at Strauss in downtown Youngstown starting in high school and continued employment at Kaufmans Department Store in The Eastwood Mall until she retired in 1991. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Niles. She volunteered her time at the Mount Carmel festival making cheese puffs and twists. Evelyn was known as the “cookie lady” and took great pleasure in baking sweet treats for her family and friends.   

She leaves her husband Armand C. Prezioso Sr., whom she married October 21, 1967. He was a loving and devoted husband that took excellent care of her during her time of illness. Evelyn was the very proud Mother of Armand C. Prezioso, Jr. and his wife Kim, granddaughter Hope Elizabeth Prezioso and grandson Holden Armand Prezioso of Montgomery, Texas. Her son and grandchildren were the loves of her life and brought her many years of happy memories. She is also survived by sister Esther Palumbo of Liberty and brother William DiPietro (Linda) of Hubbard, sister-in-laws Evelyn DiPietro, Leona DiPietro, Connie Prezioso and Rosemary Prezioso. She leaves many nieces and nephews along with lots of friends that she cherished dearly. 
Evelyn also cherished her time with her extended family the late Linda Coates Livi, who was like a daughter to her, Donald Anthony Livi, Donald James Livi (Michelle) and Lindsay Livi Gatta (Vincent). 

She was preceded in death by siblings Sam DiPietro (Millie) of Coral Gables, Florida, John DiPietro of Youngstown, Ralph DiPietro (Janice) of Hubbard and Larry DiPietro of Greenwood, South Carolina, brother in laws John (Angie) Prezioso, Rocky Prezioso and Anthony (Carmel) Prezioso. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the calling hours on Thursday, May 28th from 5-8PM at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles where The Mount Carmel Bereavement Ministry will conduct prayers at 7:30PM.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10AM Friday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Niles preceded by a 9:30AM prayer service at the funeral home.

Arrangements are being held by The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
