Hazel J. Kelly

Hazel J. Kelly, 86 of Cortland, died at 12:50AM Thursday September 22, 2016 at Park Vista Nursing Home in Youngstown.

She was born June 16, 1930 in Neville Island, Pennsylvania the daughter of Adolph and Janette Bowman Tomana.

She was a 1948 graduate of Farmington High School, employed for Alaskan Railroad in the clerical department and as a sales clerk for Stambaugh-Thompson Hardware Stores. She was a member of St. Roberts Catholic Church in Cortland, enjoyed reading up on current events and politics, and an avid Cleveland Indians fan.

Her husband Alfred Kelly whom she married September 7, 1948 died June 4, 2012.

She will be deeply missed by a son Michael Kelly and his wife Linda of Vienna, a daughter Kathryn Kelly of Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, a brother John Tomana of Idamay, West Virginia, a sister Jean DeFazio of Monongah, West Virginia, three grandchildren, Erica Wisnesky and her husband Dane, Lisa Kelly, and Cameron Miller, and three great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Emily, and Trenton.

She is preceded in death by a son Mark Kelly, a grandson Christopher Miller, a brother Denny Tomana, and four sisters, Elaine Cogar, Alice Harker, Dottie Roscoe, and Elizabeth Coble.

Friends may call Monday from 10AM to 11AM at St. Roberts Catholic Church in Cortland.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11AM Monday at St. Roberts Catholic Church in Cortland with Father Carl Kish officiating.

Burial will be in Meadowbrook Cemetery in Champion

Arrangements are being handled by The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
