James, “Jim” , “Big Red”, Quinlan, 72, of Niles, died at 1:20AM Thursday, January 18, 2018, at Trumbull Regional Medical Center.
He was born September 11, 1945 in Warren, the son of John “Jack” and Willovene “Tillie” Seger Quinlan.
Jim was a 1963 graduate of Howland High School, employed for 38 years as a diesel mechanic by Cummins Diesel of Northern Ohio, Inc. in Hubbard, OH, a member of Howland Community Church, The International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 66, and a United States Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam War having been stationed in Germany.
Jim was very handy and could fix just about anything. His favorite pastime however was spending time daily at The Niles Wellness Center, exercising, walking, and spending time daily with “the gang”.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 50 years, Linda Carnahan Quinlan, whom he married June 3, 1967, two daughters, Stephanie Quinlan Wright of Niles and Heather Quinlan of Warren, a brother William Quinlan and his wife Roberta “Bobbie” of Perrysburg, Ohio, two sisters, Jacquelyn Reichart of Brookfield, and Patty DiGiacobbe and her husband John of Brookfield, a grandson Kamron Stevens of Niles, and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 5PM and Monday from 11AM to noon at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
Funeral services will be held at noon Monday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles with Rev. Erica L. Brown officiating.
Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery where Jim will be honored for his military service by The Trumbull County American Legion Honor Guard.
