Margaret F. “Muggs” Cook, 95, formerly of Lincoln Ave in Niles, died at 4:33PM Tuesday January 20, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Health Center in Warren, Ohio.
She was born July 20, 1919 in Shadyside, Ohio the daughter of Peter and Anna Matusic Barton.
Margaret attended Belmont County Schools, employed as a waitress at The Saratoga Restaurant, Café 422, The El Rio, and as a secretary and waitress at The Living Room.
She enjoyed quilting, baking, gardening, bingo, and won Best of Show for her carmel tart cookies.
Her husband James A. Cook whom she married September 9, 1950 died November 2, 2003.
She will be deeply by a daughter Carol Jochman and her husband Thomas of Niles, a grandson, Rick Gallant Jr. and his wife Regina, two great-grandchildren, Braedan James Gallant and Addison Ellen Gallant, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Michael Barton and Joseph Barton, seven sisters, Sylvia McBride, Helen Stine, Katherine Shurko, Caroline Douglas,Rosalee Barton, Freida Barton, Mildred Daniels, and two infant sisters
Friends may call from 1 to 3PM Saturday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
Funeral services will be held at 3PM Saturday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles with Rev. Charles Kindle officiating.
Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
