Maria G. Hough, 76, of Niles, died at 6:00PM, Saturday July 29, 2017 at Hospice of The Valley Hospice House in Poland.
She was born May 27, 1941 in Sicily, Italy the daughter of Salvatore and Nancy Caruso Fangano.
Maria was employed as personnel manager at Abruzzi’s Café 422 for 30 years retiring in 1998, member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Niles, enjoyed taking annual trips to Sicily with the love of her life, making peppers and homemade sauce every year, cooking for her family, and Facebooking.
She will be sadly missed by her husband Gene Hough of Columbus, whom she married December 20, 1986, a son Thomas Clark and his wife Stephanie of Ravenna, four daughters, Denise DeZee of Boardman, Kathleen Corturillo and her husband Angelo of Niles, Lauren Hough Brewer of Warren, and Jacquelyn Beard and her husband Robert of Columbus, fourteen grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Letizia Lasoia and Josephine “Pina” Byers-Kelly, two step-sons, Lawrence Hough and Roderick Hough, and a great-grandson, Carter Clark.
Friends may call Wednesday from 8:30am-9:30am at the Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10AM Wednesday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Niles preceded by a 9:30AM prayer service at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
