Philip A. Giuliano Jr., 77. of Niles, passed away Wednesday September 23, 2015 at Shepherd of The Valley Nursing Home after fighting a courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease.

He was born January 12, 1938 the second child of Philip and Antoinette Chieffo Giuliano Sr.

Phil was a 1955 graduate of Niles McKinley High School where he played baseball and basketball and he also played tenor Sax and clarinet in The Warren Junior Military Band. He continued playing baseball and basketball under coach Dom Roselli at Youngstown College while receiving his Bachelors of Science Degree in Business and Advertising After graduation he became associated with The Living Room Restaurant followed by Cherry’s Top O’ The Mall where he was co-owner and manager. He then managed The Cabana Room in Tangier’s Restaurant in Akron while at the same time operating PAG Enterprises which booked entertainers. Phil decided to open his own restaurant; Giuliano’s in Brookfield for 13 years then moved it to Hubbard for 17 years.

Phil was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Niles, was an excellent golfer who won many tournaments, and enjoyed wintering in Florida with his wife Sandy in Stuart, Florida for several years until his health started to decline. He was a kind man who loved his customers and was loved by all those who were lucky enough to get to know him.

He will be deeply missed by his wife Sandy Strock Giuliano whom he married June 3, 1989, three step-children, Joanna Scarazzo and her husband Norman of Canfield, Betsy Craig and her husband Jeff of John’s Creek, Georgia, and Anthony Giuliano of Texas, a sister Josephine Giuliano of Niles, and five step-grandchildren. Phil was always known as “Poppi” to his extended family.

Friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 7PM at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles where The Mount Carmel Bereavement Ministry will conduct prayers at 6:30PM.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00AM Thursday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Niles preceded by a 9:30AM prayer service at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Pineview Cemetery.
