Rose A. Davis, 90, of Austintown, died at 7:01 AM October 1, 2014 at St. Elizabeth’s Health Center in Youngstown.
She was born September 6, 1924 in Youngstown the daughter of Sam and Mary Carappoli Cortese.
Rose was a 1942 graduate of Niles McKinley High School and a graduate of Youngstown Business College.
She was a homemaker, a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Niles, enjoyed cooking for family holidays and knitting.
Her husband Paul L. Davis whom she married October 19, 1942 died January 16, 1978.
Rose, who enjoyed telling jokes and had a great sense of humor, will be deeply missed by three sons, Sam Davis and his wife Donna of Canfield, Paul J. Davis of Niles, and James Davis of Daytona Beach Florida, a brother Joseph Cortese and his wife Claire of Tallahassee, Florida, a sister Mary Louise Stulock of Austintown, five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and a nephew Dan Clark and his wife Cheryl.
She was preceded in death by two daughters- in- law Judith Davis and Cheryl Davis.
Friends may call from 10 to 11AM Monday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
Services of Christian Burial will be held 11AM Monday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles with Fr. Fred Trucksis officiating.
Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
