Rose E. Gilk, 91, of Girard, died at 7:30AM Saturday September 2, 2017 at her residence.
She was born June 21, 1926 in Niles the daughter of Thindora and Thelma Casamento Segreto.
Rose a 1944 graduate of Colbrook High School, employed at General Electric in Niles and a teacher’s aid for Liberty School Systems.
She was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church in Girard, enjoyed spending time with family especially her grandchildren, cooking, and traveling
Her husband John Joseph Gilk whom she married November 3, 1951 died June 30, 1992.
She will be sadly missed by a son Dave Gilk, with whom she made her home, two daughters, Janet West and her husband David, and Lori Fine and her husband Brett, a brother Albert Segreto of Warren, two sisters, Yolanda Patena of Niles, and Josephine Marsh of Warren, six grandchildren, Jessica Starr and her husband Ryan, Jonathan West, Jaclyn West, Lyndsay Johnson, Sydney Johnson, Krysten Fine, and a great-grandson Austin Starr.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Tony Segreto, Phillip Segreto, Frank Segreto, and Sam Segreto, and three sisters, Louise Fuda, Patena Corso, and Lena Spain.
Calling hours are private.
Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial 11:00AM Tuesday at St. Rose Catholic Church in Girard.
Burial will be in Pineview Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
