Carmela D. Toto Binion, 93, of Lordstown, died at 9:40PM Friday March 10, 2017 at St. Elizabeth’s Health Center in Boardman.
She was born May 4, 1923 in Youngstown the daughter of Guiseppe and Laura Petrosinni Mele.
She was a 1941 graduate of Youngstown Rayen High School, employed at Murphy’s 5 and 10, Annette’s Beauty Shop, and a press operator at Ohio Leatherworks. She was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Niles, Niles Moose and Girard Auxiliary where she held various offices including past president, and enjoyed sewing, baking, and dancing.
Her 1’st husband Anthony J. Toto whom she married January 6, 1945 died January 8, 1992.
She will be deeply missed by her husband Russell Binion Sr. whom she married October 10, 2001, two sons Vincent Toto of Niles, Anthony Toto of Mesa, Arizona, two step-sons, Russell Binion and his wife Dixie and Arthur Binion, a step-daughter, Faye Davis, four grandchildren, Joseph Toto and his wife Kelly, Erica Krispinsky and her husband Brian, Michael Toto, Adrian Toto, and four great-grandchildren, Steven, Jade, Vincent, and Angelina.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Patrick Mele, Nick Mele, Anthony Mele, and William Mele, and three sisters, Victoria Ignazio, Minnie Tondo, and Anna Zitello.
Friends may call from 5 to 7PM Tuesday at the Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11AM at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery.
