Eugene “House” Rossi, 78, of Niles passed away Sunday May 5, 2019 at Mercy Health St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.
He was born November 17, 1940 in Niles the son of Joseph and Lucy Verardo Rossi
Eugene was a 1959 graduate of Niles McKinley High School and played football for The Red Dragons under coach Tony Mason. He was employed at Demathews Construction Company in Niles for 25 years, Federal Way Water and Sewer in Seattle for 10 years, road maintenance superintendant in Mattawan, Michigan for five years and in Berlin Township, Ohio for 10 years retiring in 2005.
Memories of Eugene will be carried on by his wife Sandy Gray Rossi whom he married January 21, 1967. He spent 50+ years married to Sandy and provided companionship, friendship, support, and most of all unconditional love. He will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Joseph, Augustino, and Nick Rossi, and two sisters, Anna Neumeister and Philomena Remalia.
Gene walks in the presence of Jesus. He was of The Catholic faith. You couldn’t have asked for a better husband, friend, or uncle. His life was well spent and he did it the right way. He loved his dogs Gypsy and Jackson. He enjoyed stock car racing while working on Bob Blaney and Jimmy Bickerstaff cars. He was a NASCAR enthusiast. He also loved great food, and great people.
Friends may call Wednesday from 10 to 11:30AM at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
Funeral services will be held 11:30AM Wednesday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
