Frances L. “Fanny” Salvador, 91, of Niles, passed away peacefully Sunday April 29, 2018 surrounded by her family.
She was born May 23, 1926 in Differdange, Luxembourg the daughter of Sabatino and Angela Mariani Durastante.
Fanny was employed as a seamstress at Shy Lockson Tailors in downtown Youngstown for 33 years retiring in 1996 and a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Niles. She enjoyed reading, traveling, sewing, crafting, and cooking.
She will be sadly missed by her husband Amedeo “Jake” Salvador whom she married October 23, 1948, a son John Salvador and his wife Susan of Warren, two daughters, Viviane Watson of Warren, and Tina Salvador, with whom she made her home, a grandson Robert Watson and his wife Maria, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Lella Leclerc.
Friends may call from 5 to 7PM Wednesday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles where The Mount Carmel Bereavement Ministry will conduct prayers at 6:30PM.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10AM Thursday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Niles preceded by a 9:30AM prayer service at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
