James D. Jackson, 86, of Niles, passed away at 4:00AM Saturday October 19, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
He was born April 22, 1933 in Braxton, West Virginia the son of William and Ruby Flint Jackson.
James was employed for AP O’Horo General Contractors Local 935 as a construction worker for 28 years, enjoyed hunting, fishing, and reading his bible.
He served proudly for The United States Army during The Korean Conflict having been stationed in Germany with the 12’th Infantry Regimen.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Beverly Flanigan Jackson whom he married July 25, 1959 and shared 60 happy years together, two daughters, Virginia Court and her husband Bill of Niles, and Kathy Collier and her husband Jim of Niles, a brother John Jackson and his wife June of Mantua, a sister Eileen Kinding of Wadsworth, nine grandchildren,seventeen great-grandchildren, and a daughter-in-law Denise Jackson.
He was preceded in death by a son Lonnie Jackson and a grandson Jesse Jackson.
Friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 7PM at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
Funeral services will be held noon Wednesday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles with Rev. Erica L. Brown officiating.
Burial will be in Greenhaven Cemetery where James will be honored for his military service by The Girard Veterans Council Honor Guard.
Arrangements are being handled by The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
