John M. Parkinson Jr.,81, of Warren passed away at 8:15pm Monday February 25th at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown.
John was born in Boston, MA on September 23, 1937 the son of John M. Sr. and Doris Stuart Parkinson.
Following his graduation from high school he joined the airforce which led him to this area and the Youngstown Air Force Base. John was employed at Republic steel, WCI and then retired from Severstal steel at its closing.
He was a great dad, grandfather and friend who will always be remembered for his love of animals. John was a member of the ASPC and multiple local and national animal charities. He was an avid NASCAR and Pittsburgh Steeler fan.
John is survived by and will be missed dearly by his daughter Ginny Villwock of Howland, his son John Parkinson III of Howland, six grandchildren Christen Villwock, Noah Villwock, Danielle Rinderknect, John Parkinson IV and his wife Andrea, Angela Myers and her husband Jake, Alexis Parkinson and nine great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his six fur babies Raven, Archie, Beager, Buddy, Shadow and Tiger.
John is preceded in death by his daughter Sherry Parkinson, wife Mabel Parkinson and his parents.
Private services will be held at a later date.
