Louis S. “Mice” Chuirazzi, 93, of Niles, died at 11:15PM Sunday September 1, 2019 at Continuing Health Care at The Ridge.
He was born April 21, 1926 in Niles the son of Nick and Maria Antoinette Pela Chuirazzi.
He was a 1944 graduate of Niles McKinley High School, employed for 26 years at Johnny’s Amoco Service as a mechanic, 5 years at Ohio Edison as a labor foreman, and 14 years at Santisi’s Trucking retiring in 1994.
He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Niles, enjoyed casino trips and avid Cleveland Indians Baseball fan. He also enjoyed spending time with family especially with his grandchildren, playing baseball while in the service, and a United States Army veteran of World War II.
His wife Helen Amendol Chuirazzi whom he married October 1, 1949 died March 10, 2010.
He will be sadly missed by a son Nick Chuirazzi and his wife Norma of Niles, two daughters, Annette Ricci of Niles and Lou Ann Horvat and her husband Joseph of Niles, two brothers, Carl Chuirazzi and his wife Annette of Poland, and Nick “Gigs” Chuirazzi of Vienna, five grandchildren, Justin, Matthew, Michael, Joey, and Anthony, and a great-grandson Eric.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, John Chuirazzi and Joseph Chuirazzi, two sisters, Mary Salapata and Eleanor Grubbs, and son-in-law James Ricci.
Memorial Mass will be held 10AM Saturday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Niles. Louis will be honored for his military services immediately after the mass. Following services the family will receive friends in Holy Family Hall
Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
