Lucille V. Stabile, 94, of Niles passed away after an extended period of declining health Monday April 17, 2017 at her residence.

She was born November 20, 1922 in Niles the daughter of Thomas and Anna DeSantis Calderone.

Lucille was a 1940 graduate of Niles McKinley High School. During World War II she worked at The Lordstown Ordinance Depot as a boxcar checker and also as manager of the two canteens providing sandwiches and coffee for the servicemen and women, and employees of the base. When the war ended Lucille worked on the x-ray truck, in the office, and many late nights from home for The TB and Health Association. She retired after many years of working in the office at Tauro Brothers Trucking.

Lucille was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Niles and was a proud past president of The Mount Carmel Society. Lou enjoyed large family picnics, holiday gatherings, and any reason to celebrate family .She loved the day trips she and her husband would take to Mountaineer Race Track and also was an avid Cleveland Cavalier and Indians fan.

Her husband Joseph A. Stabile Sr. whom she married June 1, 1957 died July 17, 2013.

She will be deeply missed by a son Joseph A. Stabile Jr. of Niles, two daughters, Joann Nori and her husband Guy Jr. of Niles, and Roseann Marsico and her husband Joseph of Vienna, two brothers, Palmer Calderone and his wife Ruby of Columbus and Thomas Calderone of Niles, a sister Rita Scattino of Niles, three grandchildren, Joseph Marsico, Jessica Marsico, and Thomas Marsico.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, David Calderone, Alfred Calderone, Clarence Calderone, and Michael Calderone and a sister, Matilda Calderone.

In keeping with Lucille’s wishes there will be private committal service at The Niles City Cemetery Chapel on Tuesday April 18 at 1:00PM.

Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.

Arrangements are being handled by The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
