Mary Ann Tauro, 71, of Niles died at 10:40PM Friday May 4, 2018 at her residence.
She was born March 6, 1947 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania the daughter of Carmen J. and Nola Lohman Pappada.
She was a 1965 graduate of Niles McKinley High School, attended Kent State University before earning her BS in Elementary Education from Youngstown State University. She taught for 27 years at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic School in Niles. Mary Ann was a passionate New York Yankee and Pittsburgh Steelers fan. When she wasn’t yelling at the TV screen to score or for an error or bad call, she was answering questions on Jeopardy, finishing actors’ lines on Seinfeld or The Godfather movies. While she enjoyed virtual travel, the trips where she was most comfortable were those in which she would have a chance to hit a jackpot (this is evidenced in perhaps holding the speed record for seeing Italy – one day).
She will be sadly missed by her husband Ronald Tauro whom she married November 3, 1997, a brother Michael Pappada (Julie) of Howland, and her loyal Bichon Frise, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Carmen M. “Dodie” Pappada and James Pappada and Bichon Frises - Champagne Dom Perignon and Lady Diana Spencer.
