Nancy Elinsky Rashid, 90, of Girard died peacefully on December 17, 2017 at Hospice of the Valley Hospice House in Youngstown.
She was born on March 27, 1927 in Jerome, Pennsylvania to Michael and Helen Elinsky and will be remembered most for her love and devotion to her family throughout her entire life.
Nancy is survived by three of her children: Nancy Jane Rashid of Greensboro, North Carolina, Paula Rashid Baker and her husband Larry McCloskey of Greensboro, North Carolina; son Michael Rashid and his wife Trace' of Midland, Michigan; grandchildren Jennifer (Bennett) Waller and Greg (Heather) Baker of Greensboro, North Carolina, Kaycee (Matt) Weir of Monroeville, Pennsylvania and Tara Rashid of Arlington, Virginia; one greatgrandson Zane Baker of Greensboro, North Carolina; sister Ann Barclay of Michigan and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her loving husband Paul, son PJ, grandson TK Rashid, four sisters: Mary Elinsky, Rose Brygidyr, Carole Guyer and Helen Davis and three brothers: Michael, Nicholas and George Elinsky.
Arrangements are being made by the Joseph Rossi Funeral Home in Niles. At her request there will be no calling hours and a private memorial will be held at a later date.
The family would like to thank the staff at Hospice of the Valley for the exceptional care and concern shown to Nancy during her time there and request that any material contributions be made to Hospice of the Valley or the Girard Multigenerational Center in her name.
