Robert Kovach Sr.

Robert Kovach Sr., 76, of Niles died Thursday January 18, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Warren Hospital.

He was born May 9, 1941 in Youngstown the son of Joseph and Mary Kachmar Kovach.

Robert was a 1959 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School in Youngstown, employed at General Motors Lordstown retiring in 1990 and was previously a licensed real estate agent for Altobelli and Paul Davis Real Estate.

He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Niles, charter member of The Vienna Knights of Columbus Council #13260, and was a  Precinct Committeeman in the City of Niles for 10 years. He enjoyed vacationing with his family, spending time with his grandchildren, and was a United States Naval veteran having served as a weather forcaster on The USS Icebreaker-Staten Island.

He will be sadly missed by his wife Margaret Mallozzi Kovach whom he married August 7, 1971, a son Gregory S. Kovach(Angela) of Stow, Ohio, a sister Dolores Cronin  of Warren, three grandchildren, Robert Kovach III, William Kovach, Sylvia Kovach, four step-grandchildren, Calvin Jr., Michael, Jacob, and Karoline, and a daughter-in-law Mechelle Kovach.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a son Robert Kovach Jr.

Friends may call Tuesday from 10AM up until the time of the 11AM funeral service at the Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.

Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery where Bob will be honored for his military service by The Trumbull County American Legion Honor Guard.
