Tindara “Thelma” Calabria, 91, of Niles, passed away Saturday February 17th in Alliance.
Thelma was born February 21, 1926 in Clearfield, PA the daughter of Nicola and Maria Corturillo Santinoceto. She spent 15 years in Sicily where she met her husband Frank Calabria.
Thelma’s work history included American Flange and Manufacturing and Hillside Hospital in Warren in their cafeteria kitchen for 10 years.
She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Niles and enjoyed cooking for her family, knitting blankets, gardening and doing puzzles.
Her husband Frank Calabria whom she married December 1, 1945 died September 28, 1992.
Thelma will be deeply missed by her two daughters Rosemary Gergich and her husband Raymond of Pittsburgh, PA., Darlene Williams and her husband Mike of Alliance, five grandchildren Rob Siddall, Whitney Surasky and her husband Jared, Evan Siddall and his wife Teresa, Michael Williams and his wife Wei, Holly Williams and her fiance Steve Cabassa, two great-grandchildren Bella Surasky and Adria Williams and sister-in-law Rose Santinoceto.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Sam Santinoceto and sister Nina Corturillo.
Friends may call Wednesday from 9am until the 10:30 am prayer service at the Joseph Rossi & Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
Mass of Christian burial will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Niles.
Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
