Thomas M. “Tex” Calderone, 94, of Niles, passed away at 10:40PM Sunday July 14, 2019 at Assumption Village Nursing Home in North Lima.
He was born January 3, 1925 in Niles the son of Thomas and Anna DeSantis Calderone.
Thomas was a 1943 graduate of Niles McKinley High School, employed at LTV Steel, member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Niles, and San Fellipe Neri Lodge. He enjoyed walking, sports,golfing, horse racing, and was a United States Naval Veteran of World War II.
He will be sadly missed by his brother Palmer Calderone and his wife Ruby of Columbus, his sister Rita Scattino of Niles, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, David, Alfred, Clarence, and Michael Calderone, and two sisters, Matilda Calderone and Lucille Stabile.
There are no calling hours.
Funeral services will be held 9:30AM Wednesday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery where Thomas will be honored for his military service by The Trumbull County American Legion Honor Guard.
The family would like to thank the staff of Assumption Village and Mercy Health Hospice for their compassion and care to Tom.
