Thomas J. Marino Jr., 75, of Niles, died Friday September 22, 2017 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Youngstown.
He was born September 27, 1941 in Niles the son of Thomas and Antoinette Pallante Marino.
He was a 1959 graduate of Youngstown Rayen High School, a Youngstown Business College graduate, and a graduate of Youngstown State University with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Business Administration.
Tom was employed at The St. Elizabeth’s Hospital Kitchen, a material handler at Ohio Leather, and in payroll and ordering at Mark’s Tractor Equipment Company retiring in 1994.
He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica in Youngstown, AARP, and past member of St. Rocco’s. He enjoyed cooking and feeding everyone his sauce, meatballs, and wedding soup, going on casino trips, and spending time with his family especially his grandson Joey, the apple of his eye. Tom was also proud of his Italian Heritage and nothing meant more to him then God and family.
Tom, who was a loving husband and father, will be deeply missed by his wife Marlene Kopkas Marino whom he married May 13, 1967, a daughter Jodi Walters( Mark) of Howland, a son Thomas J. Marino III, at home, two brothers, Michael Marino of Austintown and Louis Marino of Lowellville, a sister Mary Wakefield of Poland, a grandson, Joseph Anthony Walters, and two granddaughters, Amanda Walters of Seattle, Washington and Liane Walters of Los Angeles, California.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, David and James Marino.
Friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 7PM at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10AM Thursday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica in Youngstown with Msgr. Michael Cariglio officiating preceded by a 9:15AM prayer service at the funeral home..
Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
