Vita M. Powers

Vita M. Powers, 86, of  Niles passed away at 7:00AM Monday January 14, 2019 at Gracewoods Senior Living in Niles.

She was born September 4, 1932 in Niles the daughter of John and Mary Frances DeChristefero Iezzi.

Vita was a 1952 graduate of Niles McKinley High School, employed in billing and payroll accounts for 20 years at Dr. Santucci Family Dentistry and Associates, and also as a cashier at Cicero’s and Nick’s Market.

She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Niles, Mt. Carmel Society, Church Choir, Women’s Democratic Club, member and officer of The Little Red Dragons, and an avid sports fan especially of the Cleveland Browns, Indians, and Niles McKinley Red Dragons.

She will be deeply missed by a sister Rose Marie Jadloski of Niles and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by a son Mark Powers, a brother, James Iezzi, and four sisters, Betty Rura, Edith Salerno, Yola Iezzi, and Louise McQuown.

Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 7PM at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles where The Mt. Carmel Bereavement Ministry will conduct prayers at 6:30PM.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10AM Thursday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Niles preceded by a 9:30AM prayer service at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
