Obituary

Andrew "Andy" Kieltsch, 64, of Warren, died Tuesday, January 11, 2011, at St. Joseph Health Center Eastland in Warren, Ohio.

He was born October 14, 1946 in Berlin, Germany the son of Martin and Gertrude Hermenau Kieltsch.

Andy was a 1964 graduate of Niles McKinley High School, employed as a bus driver for Niles City School District, custodian for Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church and school in Niles, and a cook on a tug boat on The Mississippi River. He was 1'st mate on a fishing charter boat out of Erie, owned Andy's Attic on West Park Ave in Niles and also sold computers, boats, and other odds and ends.

He was a member of The Niles McKinley Lodge 794 F.& A.M. of Ohio, Ali Babba Grotto, The Cortland Conservation Club and The Jolly Boys Monday Night Gang. He was a member of The William McKinley American Legion Post 106, a board member for The Mahoning Valley Sports Hall of Fame, and a Sergeant in The United States Air Force with The 31'st Field Maintenance Squadron having served in Vietnam and Germany.

Andy enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking, hanging out with his friends, and spending time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed good food, always had a good joke to tell, and played Santa Clause throughout the area during Christmas.

Andy, who was a friend to everybody and did anything for anybody, will be deeply missed by a son, David Kieltsch and his wife Dianna of Fort Worth, Texas, a daughter Kristina Packard and her husband Keith of Lyndhurst, Ohio, a brother Richard Kieltsch and his wife Francis of North Augusta, South Carolina, two sisters, Helga Stone of Whitehall, Missouri and Trudy Moody and her husband Terry of Columbia, South Carolina, seven grandchildren, Thomas and Matthew Packard, Kenny Cross, Btittany Cross Williby, David, Ariel, and Skylar Kieltsch, and a great-granddaughter, Sykarra Williby.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a step-father Joseph Ewing who raised him.

Friends may call from 4 to 7PM Sunday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles where the Niles McKinley Lodge 794 F. & A.M. of Ohio will conduct prayers at 6:30PM.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30AM Monday at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, with Fr. John Trimbur officiating, preceded by a 10AM prayer service at the funeral home. Andy will be honored for his military service by The Trumbull County American Legion Honor Guard following the mass.

Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
