Angelo "Evangelista" Falcione, 90, of Niles died at 10:50AM Wednesday April 9, 2014 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren.
He was born May 3, 1923 in Aquila, Italy the son of Antonio and Elmerinda Taranta Falcione. He came over to The United States at age 13 and settled in Irondale, Ohio. At the age of 17 he settled in Niles where he resided with his Uncle and Aunt, Victor and Pauline Lorenzetti.
He was employed as a service manager for 43 years at Servi-clean Industries in Youngstown retiring in 1990. He was an outstanding member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Niles where he served as church usher and festival volunteer, charter member of The Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish St. Vincent DePaul Society, and member of The Trumbull County St. Vincent DePaul Society. He was also a member and past Grand Knight of The Niles Knights of Columbus Council 1681, and member of The Monsignor Francis J. Lavery 4'th Degree where he served as Faithful Navigator.
Angelo was an all around handyman, enjoyed gardening, cooking, playing cards, and avid sports fan especially supporting his grandson coaching football.
Angelo was a United States Naval Veteran of World War II having served in The Australian and Pacific Theatre.
Angelo was an outstanding teacher to the many hearts he touched. Anyone who knew Angelo knew he had a heart of Gold and he will be deeply missed by his wife Carrie Carano Falcione whom he married February 1, 1947, two daughters, Kathleen Ciminero and her husband Matthew of Cortland and Janis Neuman and her husband James of Ruskin, Florida, three grandchildren, Natalie Ciminero of Nantucket, Massachusetts, Keri Grim and her husband Mark of Howland, and Angelo Ciminero and his wife Melissa of Canfield, and a great-granddaughter Gianna Evangelista Grim.
He is preceded in death by a brother Geno Falcione.
Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 4PM at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles where The Mount Carmel Bereavement Ministry and The Niles Knights of Columbus Council 1681 will conduct prayers at 3:30PM.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10AM Monday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Niles with Fr. John- Michael Lavelle officiating preceded by a 930AM prayers service at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Pineview Cemetery where Angelo will be honored for his military service by The Trumbull County American Legion Honor Guard.
