Ann Cornicelli, 87, of Niles died Tuesday May 3, 2016 at St. Elizabeth's Health Center in Youngstown surrounded by her loving family
She was born April 13, 1929 in Niles the daughter of Joseph and Susan DeFabio Catalano
She was a 1947 graduate of Niles McKinley High School, co-owned and operated The Cornicelli Cleaners with her husband Joseph for over 50 years, a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Niles, The Niles Ladies Lions Club, enjoyed playing cards, golfing, and bowling.
Ann was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who dedicated her life to her family. She was affectionately known as "Meema"
She will be deeply missed by her husband Joseph A. Cornicelli Sr. whom she married September 23, 1950, two sons, Dr. Joseph A. Cornicelli Jr. and his wife Ann Marie of Ann Arbor, Michigan, and Attorney/Magistrate Anthony M. Cornicelli and his wife Cindy of Warren, a daughter Maria Crowley and her husband Jeff of Niles, ten grandchildren, Joseph Cornicelli, Matthew Cornicelli and his wife Stephanie,Nicholas Cornicelli, Christa Altobelli and her husband Ryan, Anthony Cornicelli (Emily Opalka), Dante Cornicelli, J.J. Crowley(Krista Burns), Shawn Crowley, Jennie Balyeat and her husband Jeff, John Starling and his wife Sara, and five great-grandchildren, Carter and Avery Altobelli, Annabella and Barron Balyeat, and Sebastian Starling.
She is preceded in death by her step-mother Mamie Catalano who raised her, an infant son, Paul Richard Cornicelli, two infant brothers, and an infant sister.
Friends may call from 4 to 7PM Thursday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles where The Mount Carmel Bereavement Ministy will conduct prayers at 6:30PM.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10AM Friday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Niles preceded by a 9:30AM prayer service at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Pineview Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
