Anthony J. Salandra, 85 of Niles died at 11:30PM Wednesday May 4, 2011 at Autumn Hills Care Center in Niles.

He was born December 31, 1925 in Niles the son of John and Mary Bassett LaSalandra.

A 1943 graduate of Niles McKinley High School he participated with the school's Boy's Glee Club and the mixed chorus. After school he joined the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church Choir, which at the time was the largest male choir in the area. He then moved to Florida where he was employed as a partner-broker at Howie Realty, Inc of Cape Coral Florida until his retirement in 1991 then moving back to Ohio.

Anthony was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Warren and its Choir since 1991. A former member of The Board of Realtors, The MLS Service of Cape Coral, The Florida Association of Realtors, and The National Association of Realtors. He was also a Charter member of The Cape Coral Elks Lodge #2596, member of Cape Coral Moose Lodge #2199, and The Niles San Filipo Lodge since 1946. In 1969, Anthony was appointed as an Honorary Kentucky Colonel by former governor of Kentucky, Louis B. Nunn.

His wife Hazel Triplett Salandra whom he married July 16, 1952 died July 14 1994.

He will be deeply missed by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Services will be held at Spring Hill Cemetery in Huntington, West Virginia at a later date.
