Obituary

Barbara A. Spano, 81, of Naples, Florida died on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at her daughter's residence in Niles

She was born April 4, 1929 in Asheville, North Carolina the daughter of Fred and Mary Glenn Rickman.

She was a 1947 graduate of Biltmore High School in Asheville North Carolina, a member of St. Rose Catholic Church in Girard, and St. Agnes Catholic Church in Naples, Florida.

She was a United States Naval Veteran having been stationed at Jacksonville Naval Air Station during The Korean War, where she met her then future husband, Joseph. After being discharged, the couple settled in Ohio, until retirement.

Barbara enjoyed wintering in Florida, vacationing in Las Vegas and Atlantic City, and cooking,

She will be deeply missed by her husband of 58 years Joseph A. Spano Sr. whom she married August 28, 1952, her sons, Joseph A. Spano Jr. and his wife Carolyn of Girard, Kevin L. Spano of Canfield, who operate Spano Insurance Agency in Boardman, and Greg Spano of Plainfield, Indiana, her daughter Cynthia L. LaBuda and her husband John, with whom she made her summer home, three grandchildren, Adam O'Brien and his wife Celia, Brittany Spano, and Joseph A. Spano III.

She is preceded in death by a sister Nancy Rickman and an aunt Annie Laurie Glenn.
