Betty J. Gregg, 89, of Niles passed away peacefully with her daughter and granddaughters at her side on Wednesday at Hospice House in Poland.

She was born September 7, 1925 in Niles, the daughter of George and Maude Kincaide James.

Betty was a 1943 graduate of Niles McKinley High School.  She was employed at F.W. Woolworth department store in downtown Niles as a sales clerk for 8 years and was a devoted wife and mother.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Niles, enjoyed listening and dancing to polka music, and loved spending time with her grandchildren & great grandchildren.  Betty was an avid mall walker and enjoyed cooking.  She was best known for her pizzelles and turkey stuffing.

Her husband Joseph Donald Gregg, whom she married May 5, 1949, died August 1, 1999.

She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Bonnie Harris (Jim Berkey) of Niles, two granddaughters, Stacie Lehman and her husband Jason of Niles, Julie Maravola and her husband Ralph of Delaware, two great-grandchildren Abbey and Joey Lehman, and her grand-dogs Louie, Leia and Jasper.

She is preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Dorothy James and Hazel Williams.

Private services will be held at a later date.
