Bonnie Ann Webber, 66, of Girard, died at 3PM Friday August 26, 2011 at Park Vista Nursing Home in Youngstown, Ohio.
She was born January 22, 1945 in Youngstown the daughter of Richard and Dorothy Zins O'Brien.
Bonnie, who made everybody feel special and was a good listener, was a 1963 graduate of Niles McKinley High School and a 1967 graduate of Kent State University with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Elementary Education.
Bonnie began her teaching career in Newton Falls at Catholic Elementary for one year , then going down to Charleston, South Carolina to teach for one year. She spent the majority of her career at Lordstown Elementary where she made many friends and was an inspiration to many of her students. Due to her classroom achievements she received The Channel 21 Class Act Award. Bonnie taught in all for 34 years before retiring in 2000 and even after that never stopped working as she did some tutoring at Lordstown.
Bonnie, who always said "That's a Hoot" was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Niles, The State Teachers Association, Trumbull County Retired Teachers Association, and Ohio Retired Teachers Association.
She enjoyed genealogy, the theatre, and finding brand new restaurants that nobody else knew about.
Bonnie will be deeply missed by her husband Kenneth Webber whom she married June 26, 1970, and a brother Lawrence O'Brien and his wife Lois of Wilton, Connecticut, and several nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews who were as close to her as if they were her own children.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Friends may call Monday from 4 to 7PM and Tuesday from 9 to 9:30AM at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10AM at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Niles, with Father Thomas Kraszewski officiating, preceded by a 9:30AM prayer service at the funeral home.
Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery.
