Carla L. Chiody, 74, of Niles, passed away on Friday, January 2, 2026, at Mercy Health St. Joseph's Warren Hospital. She was born August 31, 1951, in Warren, the daughter of Roy and Roxanne (Nation) Powell.

Carla was a 1970 graduate of Warren Western Reserve High School and was employed in Central Supply at Warren General Hospital for 15 years, retiring in 1996. Carla found great joy in casino trips, shopping, her love for all things Betty Boop, and collecting gnomes.

She will be sadly missed by her husband, John Chiody, whom she married August 22, 1970; a daughter, Sabrina Mullen, and her husband, Jim, of Girard; a son, John Chiody, and his wife, Christina, of Niles; five grandchildren, Jessica Mullen and her significant other Chris Swantner, Christina Cleary and her husband, Sean, Jimmy Mullen and his wife, Caylie, Zane Chiody, and Breanna Chiody; and five great-grandchildren, Blaise, Jace, Sean, Cole, and Clara.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Michael Powell and Jim Powell; and four sisters, Marsha Brady, Sue File, Cindy Thompson, and Sally Lightman.

Per Carla's wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no services. Arrangements are being handled by the Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
