Catherine Rita Joseph, 88, of Sarasota, Fla., died peacefully with her niece Beverly and nephew Jerry by her side at 4PM on Sunday, March 6, 2011.

She was born January 28, 1923 in Youngstown, Ohio the daughter of Michael and Mary Zeiter Joseph and moved to Sarasota Florida in October of 1990 with her three sisters.

She attended Youngstown East High School and employed at The Mahoning County Court House and Treasurers office for 30 years.

Catherine was a member of St. Maron's Church in Youngstown, St. Michael the Archangel Church in Sarasota, and was active in The Youngstown Democratic Party.

She will be deeply missed by seven nieces and nephews, Tanios Sleiman of Lebanon, Sleiman Sleiman of Lebanon,Adwane Sleiman Warchol and her husband Ed of Youngstown, Marie Sleiman Basile and her husband David of Youngstown, Mary Lisa Joseph DiDomenico and her husband Bob of Canfield, Gerald Michael Sandy and his wife Sheila of West Palm Beach, Florida, and Beverly Scali Vross and her husband Jerry of Sarasota, Florida, several great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Joseph Sleiman, Peter M. Joseph, Joseph M. Joseph, five sisters, Marie Joseph, Elizabeth Joseph Sandy, Theresa Joseph Scali, Martha Joseph, and Josephine Joseph, and a great nephew David J. Vross.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10AM Thursday at St. Maron Church with Chor Bishop Michael Kail officiating.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery
