Charles J. 'Chuck" Carnes, 77, of Niles, passed away on Friday February 2, 2024 at his residence. He was born September 17, 1946 in Lilly, Pennsylvania the son of Elmer Carnes  and Catherine Slebodnick Bertram. Chuck was employed for General Motors Lordstown for 34 years retiring in 2004, a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Niles, lifetime member of Niles Eagles #1476, and Niles Moose. He enjoyed NASCAR, boxing, was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, and a United States Naval veteran. His wife Gloria "Patti" Rickens Carnes whom he married October 15, 1966 died July 22, 2020. He will be sadly missed by his daughter Michelle Marz and her husband Bob with whom he made his home, a brother Joseph Carnes of Cresson, Pennsylvania, two sisters, Mary Doyle and Linda Eger both of Cresson, Pennsylvania, two grandchildren, Tricia Kumar and her husband Samuel, and Sara Marz and her fiancée Alan Boone. He was preceded in death by his parents,   a brother William Williams and a sister Patty Adelsburg. Private services will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
