Charles W. Martin Sr., 68, of Girard, died at 11:49PM Monday April 23, 2012 at Northside Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio.

He was born January 3, 1944 in Youngstown the son of Isabelle Akins Martin and the step-son of Henry Martin.

He was a 1962 graduate of Lakeview High School and employed for 32 years at Packard Electric in the Molds Department and as a union representative retiring in 2002.

Chuck was a member of The Niles Army Navy Garrison Post 252 where he served as pay master, enjoyed golfing, pool, playing cards with the Palmers, a United States Naval Veteran for four years during The Vietnam War and also served for 20 years with The Air Force Reserves at The Youngstown Air Base having been activated during The 1'st Gulf War.

Chuck, who always thought his grandchildren were his world, will be deeply missed by his wife Vivian Martin Martin whom he married July 5, 1996, two sons Charles W. Martin Jr. and his wife Tracy of Niles and Thomas Mostoller and his wife Christina of Nome, Alaska, two daughters, Lori Martin of Warren and Diana Mostoller of Howland, two brothers, Henry Martin and Dennis Martin and his wife Susan both of Florida, and seven grandchildren, Cara, Grant, Sarah, Gabrielle, Maci, Ethan, and Davion.

He is preceded in death by his parents and step-father. Friends may call from 4 to 7PM Thursday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.

Funeral Services will be held 7PM Thursday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles with Pastor John Preusser officiating. Chuck will be honored for his military service by The Niles Army Navy Garrison Post 252 Honor Guard right after the conclusion of the service.

Burial will be in Kerr Cemetery.
