Obituary

Clyde A. Champlin, 86, of Warren died at 10:25PM Thursday, November 11, 2010, at Gillette Nursing Home in Warren, Ohio.

He was born October 14, 1924 in Warren the son of John and Mable Campbell Champlin.

He was a 1944 graduate of Mooseheart High School in Illinois, and was employed as a furnace operator and steel scale repairman for 35 years before retiring in 1985.

He was a member of Bolindale Christian Church in Warren, American Legion Post 540 in Cortland for over 20 years, The Mooseheart Allumni, and 66 year member of The Warren Chapter of The Moose.

He enjoyed camping and was a United States Army veteran of World War II having served in the Burma India Campaign.

He will be deeply missed by his wife Grace Swindler Champlin whom he married June 12, 1953, two daughters, Carolyn Altsman Szabo and her husband Dick of Cortland, and Claudia Collins of Virginia City, Nevada, three grandchildren, Anthony Frasca, John A. Szabo and his wife Rebecca, and Todd R. Szabo and his wife Laura, seven great-grandchildren, Jordan, Amelia, Alivia, Summer, Emily, Scottie, and Stephanie.

He is preceded in death by two brothers, Nelson Champlin and Paul Champlin, and three sisters, Viola Mae Champlin, Doris Waxmansky, and Helen Schaffer.

Friends may call from 4 to7PM Monday and 10 to 11AM Tuesday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.

Funeral Services will be held 11AM Tuesday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles with Pastor Ray Blasko officiatiang.

Burial will be in Pineview Cemetery where Clyde will be honored for his military service by The Trumbull County American Legion Honor Guard.
