Connie "Carrie" Laurie, 101, formerly of Niles, passed away 11:15pm Saturday December 6th at her son's residence in Chardon.

She was born September 29, 1913 in Youngstown, the daughter of James and Mary Gumina.

She was employed at the Lordstown Arsenal, Alberini's restaurant, and Albee Homes.

Connie was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Niles, and enjoyed gardening and cooking, especially for her family.

Her husband Fred Laurie whom she married February 7, 1930, passed away December 30, 1977.

She will be deeply missed by her daughter Connie Fittipaldo of Niles, son Andrew Laurie and his wife Karen of Chardon, two sisters Vivian Nicastro of Struthers and Marie Antonucci of Girard, four grandchildren Linda Brickley of Warren, Jim Fittipaldo and his wife Linda of Howland, Drew Laurie and his wife Crystal of Struthers, Kimberly Laurie of Willoughby, 6 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.

Connie is preceded in death by 7 brothers and sisters.

Graveside services will be held at Noon Monday December 15th at Niles City Cemetery.
