Daniel E. Vigorito Sr., 67, of Warren died at 11:40AM Thursday September 20, 2012 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Warren surrounded by his family after a 2 year battle with cancer.
He was born November 14, 1944 in Warren the son of Joseph and Nina Liberator Vigorito.
Dan was a 1962 graduate of Niles McKinley High School, employed at General Motors Lordstown for 30 years retiring in 2001 and was a United States Marine Corp veteran for six years. He enjoyed dancing, gardening, golfing, traveling, casinos, music and singing. He had several rental properties that he enjoyed remodeling for the past 25 years. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed all of Ohio's teams; Buckeyes, Indians, Cavaliers and Browns.
He will be deeply missed by his wife Tina Koupiaris Vigorito whom he married October 7, 2004, four sons, Charles Vigorito and his wife Robyn of Aurora, Colorado, Daniel E. Vigorito Jr. of Bradford, Pennsylvania, Nathan Vigorito and his wife Traci of Niles, Joshua Vigorito of Warren, two daughters, Lyda Vigorito of Niles, Lisa Dodge and her husband Gary of Geneva, a step-son Anthony Cardarelli of Howland, a step-daughter Renae Hoso and her husband Eric of Howland, four brothers, Joseph Vigorito and his wife Carol of Champion, Anthony Vigorito of Niles, Michael Vigorito and his wife Sherry of Statesville, North Carolina, and Nicholas Vigorito and his wife Karen of Knoxville, Tennessee, three sisters, Carole Dellinger of Niles, Sandra Jennings of Warren, Carmella Ruman and her husband John of Niles, six grandchildren, Christina Vigorito, Nino Vigorito, Evan Davis, Marin Davis, Gia Hoso, Frankie Hoso, and a great-grandaughter Brynlee Ray and several nieces and nephews.
Dan will be remembered for his strong work ethic, dependability, punctuality and involvement in his children's lives and activities. He coached several of their sports teams and rarely missed any of their extra-curricular activities and events.
He was preceded in death by his son Matthew Vigorito, his brother Raymond Vigorito, and his parents.
Friends may call from 5 to 7PM Tuesday and 10 to 11AM Wednesday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
Memorial services will be held 11AM Wednesday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles with Reverend Donald P. Barnes officiating.
Cremation has taken place and burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Warren where Dan will be honored for his military service by The Trumbull County American Legion Honor Guard.
The family wishes to thank the St. Joseph's Hospital 6th floor for their compassionate care.
