David L. Prosser, formerly of Mineral Ridge, died 7:00am Tuesday February 14th , 10 days prior to his 100th birthday at Crandall Medical Center in Sebring
David was born on February 24, 1912 in Mineral Ridge the son of David and Elizabeth Lloyd Prosser.
In 1930, David graduated from Mineral Ridge High School and in 1934 he graduated from Mount Union with a Bachelors Degree in Education. David later received his Masters Degree from Kent State University.
David was employed as a science teacher for Niles City Schools for 30 years where he was also the audiovisual supervisor.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Mineral Ridge where he was a Deacon, a past Commander of the American Legion Post 106, Past President and longtime secretary of the Niles Rotary, State Teachers Retirees, original member of the Canfield Community Band where he retired in 2009, Warren Military Band, both of which he played the saxophone, and the Niles Historical Society where he assisted as Docent.
David enjoyed golfing, playing the saxophone, was an avid card player and was a US Navy veteran of WWII. At 98 he traveled to Washington DC as a veteran to experience the Honor Flight of World War II.
His wife Ada Williams Prosser whom he married January 1, 1936, died February 22, 1989.
David had an ornery streak, which everyone ignored. Residents of Copeland Oaks and Crandall Medical Center as well as staff of both institutions dearly loved him.
He will be deeply missed by several cousins and many friends.
Memorial Services will be held 11:30am Saturday February 25th at First Presbyterian Church of Mineral Ridge.
Burial will be take place at Kerr Cemetery in Mineral Ridge.
