Delphine Dolores Slanina, 84, of Niles died Friday, February 11, 2011 at her residence.

She was born April 24, 1926 in Niles the daughter of Lodivico and Rosa Zaccone Stabile.

Delphine was employed at Republic Steel and Art's Clothiers for many years, a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Niles and The Monday Rosary Group. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, playing cards with her friends, crocheting, and knitting.

Delphine, who had a love for her family, will be deeply missed by a son Mark Slanina and his wife Diana of Las Vegas, Nevada, two daughters, Patricia Pachuk and her husband Richard of Kiawah Island, South Carolina, and Stephanie Kramer and her husband Raymond of Greenwood, Indiana, a brother John Stabile and his wife Mary of Boardman, three sisters, Corsina Liberator of Naples, Florida, Rose Labate of Mineral Ridge, and Neva Basista of Coitsville, eight grandchildren, Stacy Kramer, Patrick Kramer, Ryan Kramer, Rita Slanina, Chrisy Loswego and her husband Chris, Ernest Slanina and his wife May, Belinda Lauron and her husband Eddie, and Carmen Schauer and her husband Jeff, seven great-grandchildren, Steven Thornsberry, Anthony Slanina, Erica Slanina, Nicole Schauer, Zachery Schauer, Tyler Loswego, and Kyle Loswego, and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by three brothers, Joseph Stabile, Leroy Stabile, and Salvatore Stabile.

Friends may call from 4 to 7PM Tuesday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10AM Wednesday at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Niles, with Fr. Tom Kraszewski officiating, preceded by a 9:30AM prayer service at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
