Dolores P. O'Connell, 87, of Newton Falls, died Sunday, July 23, 2017 at her residence.

She was born November 6, 1929, the daughter of Antonio and Geraldine Fonzo Petrillo.

A 1947 graduate of Niles McKinley High School, she was a cosmetologist with her sister Mary at Mary's Beauty Salon on Vienna Ave. in Niles. Later, she worked at Strauss-Hirschberg Department Stores, then as an Inspector at Packard Electric for 15 years. Dolores was also a volunteer at Ellsworth Elementary School, where she was affectionately known as "Grandma O." She enjoyed crafts and gardening.

Her husband, Patrick A. O'Connell Sr., whom she married September 6, 1950, died December 15, 1996.

She will be sadly missed by two sons, Patrick O'Connell Jr. (Mary Ann) of Niles, and Michael O'Connell (Yan) of Clarksville, Tennessee, and a daughter, Vanessa Pellin of Ellsworth, Ohio. As well as four grandchildren, Richard Pellin Jr. (Juliet), Patrick Pellin, Courtney Olinger (Wayne), and Tiffany Pellin, and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Angelo "Charlie" Petrillo, and three sisters, Victoria Petrillo, Mary Jones, and Carmella Hill.

Calling hours will be held Saturday from 2:30PM to 4:30PM at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
