Dolores "Dee" Martha Tricomi, 89, went home to be with Jesus while under hospice care at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Retirement Services in Niles on her favorite day of the year, Friday April 1, 2016.
Dolores M. Tricomi was born March 7, 1927, in Niles, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Insana Tricomi.
Dee graduated from Niles McKinley High School in 1945.  She began working for the family grocery store at the young age of nine and never stopped working until she retired from Ohio Bell, now AT&T, in 1975.  She attended St. Stephen Catholic Church in Niles and loved going to mass.  Dee was meticulous with her landscaping, enjoyed crossword puzzles, taking care of Penny and Maxi (her beloved pets) and driving to the country to visit the farm markets.   A generous person, Dee loved to visit family and friends and never came empty handed, always bringing donuts, chocolates or something to share.
Dee was quite the conversationalist and when she spoke….you listened, especially her nieces and nephews.  Dee was a great story teller, wise, witty, energetic and a jokester; she enjoyed life and especially retirement.  One thing she really wanted to do was to pan for gold out west but never made it.  Now, she is walking on the streets of gold.  She will be sadly missed.
She leaves six nephews, nine nieces, many great nephews and nieces and many great great nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her siblings Frank (Angie) Tricomi, Vita (Nick) Ragazzo, Joseph (Carmel) Tricomi, William (Clara) Tricomi, John (Marian) Tricomi, George (Antonette) Tricomi, Mary (Anthony) DiSalvo, Stella (Pete) Bercia and a nephew, Mark Bercia.
Dee's family would like to express their sincere thanks to all the wonderful caregivers at Shepherd of the Valley in Niles and Hospice of the Valley for all their dedication and care shown to her during her illness.
Friends may call Wednesday from 10AM  until the time of the 11AM funeral service  at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles
Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery.
