Donald D. Bettura, 90, of Niles, died at 11:44PM Friday April 18, 2014 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren.
He was born November 1, 1923 in Youngstown the son of Ralph and Mary Gargonne Bettura.
Donald was a 1943 graduate of Youngstown Rayen High School and employed at U. S. Steel McDonald Works and General Fire Proofing for 37 ½ years retiring in 1983. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Niles, ITAM #13 in Youngstown, Army-Navy Garrison #422 in McKinley Heights, and the Leisure 39'ers.
He enjoyed golfing and was a United States Army Veteran of World War II having served in Southern France, Rhineland, Central Europe, and The Ardennes.
His wife Sadie Sundie Bettura whom he married November 17, 1956 died January 19, 2006.
Donald who was very friendly to everyone will be deeply missed by his many family and friends.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call from 8:30AM to 9:30AM Tuesday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10AM Tuesday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Niles, with Father John-Michael Lavelle officiating, preceded by a 9:30AM prayer service at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery where Donald will be honored for his military service.
