Dorothy C. Whetstone,  87, of Niles died at 3:40PM Sunday July 2, 2017 at her residence.

She was born July 6, 1929 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania the daughter of John and Rose Tima Mikula.

Dorothy attended Niles McKinley High School for three years, was employed at HK Porter, and in housecleaning. She was a precinct committee women, enjoyed crocheting, word puzzle books, feeding the birds, gardening and working with her flowers, cooking, baking, and spending time with her dog.

Her husband William Whetstone Sr. whom she married May 1, 1946 died November 22, 1990.

She will be deeply missed by a daughter Cheryl Whetstone, with whom she made her home, two sons William Whetstone Jr. and his wife Jacqueline of Niles and Stanley Whetstone and his wife Jodie of Newton Falls, two grandchildren, Steven Whetstone and William Whetstone III, and five great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Emily, Andrew, Ann Marie, and Joshua.

She was preceded in death by a brother, John Salapata, five sisters, Carolyn Boron, Genevieve Miller, Catherine Verbonaz, Sophie Kuhn, and Mary Salapata.

Per Dorothy's wishes, cremation will take place and private services will be held at a later date.
