Earl "The Pearl" Swegan, 56, of Niles died Sunday May 1, 2016 at his residence.

He was born December 31, 1959 in Youngstown the son of Alvin Sr. and Dorothy Blue Swegan

Earl was a 1977 graduate of Niles McKinley High School, a self-employed Disk Jockey at Cleary's and Sully's Irish Pub for 34 years, was a driving force of establishing  Sully's Annual Irish 5K in 1994, and enjoyed gardening, cooking, building, and canning. Every year he looked forward to dressing in his full Leprechaun attire for St. Patrick's Day and half-way to St. Patrick's Day.

He was a United States Air Force Reserve Veteran.

He will be deeply missed by a son Matthew Swegan and his wife Corrina of Masury, a daughter Courtney Swegan of Warren, their mother and his former wife Cathy Swegan of Niles, three brothers, Carl Swegan of Youngstown, Alvin "Jim" Swegan and his wife Ruth of Youngstown and John Swegan and his wife Cheryl of Elkhart, Indiana, two sisters, Cathy Perman of Elkhart, Indiana and Peggy Back of Enid, Oklahoma, a grandson Brayden Swegan, and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial services will be held at Noon Saturday at First Presbyterian Church of Girard with Pastor Debby Dockstader officiating.

Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery where Earl will be honored for his military service by The Trumbull County American Legion Honor at a later date.
