Edward J. Koch, 68, died at 1:40 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 24, 2016, at Select Specialty Hospital in Boardman.
He was born Feb. 18, 1947, in Youngstown, the son of Edward Reapsummer and Elizabeth Powers Koch.
He was a 1965 graduate of Girard High School, attended Kent State University, was a graduate of the University of Georgia, and a computer engineer for LTV Republic Steel, CST, and Warren Consolidated.
He was of the Catholic faith, enjoyed traveling, cruises, and a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
He will be deeply missed by his mother of Niles; his wife, Carlie Lou Turcich Koch; a son, James Koch (Jen Perry) of Girard; a grandson, Jared Koch; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, and his stepfather, Wayne Koch.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at the Girard City Cemetery Chapel, conducted by the Girard Veterans Council Honor Guard at 11 a.m.
